Create The Life You Actually Want

Let’s be honest for a second, shall we? You’re feeling unsatisfied with your life. Although, on the surface everything is good, and some might even say, that on paper, you have the picture perfect life.

That’s part of the problem, though: you’re settling for a life that’s been dictated to you by what society deems acceptable.

Sure, you’re grateful for the things you do have, but no matter how hard you try, you just can’t shake this feeling that there’s more out there for you, and you’re getting anxious about the thought of potentially missing out on what you want, even though you can’t really put into words what it is you do want.



You can’t really describe this feeling to anyone, so you find yourself getting more frustrated, and sometimes feeling like you’re actually going crazy.

I can tell you that you are absolutely not the only one who feels this way, and you’re not going crazy.

It’s about time you were honest with yourself about the fact that you don’t actually want the life everyone has said you should have.

There’s nothing wrong with that life, but you know it’s not for you, and until now you’ve been holding yourself back from truly going after what you want, because of what other people will think about your choices.

Here’s how to change that:

DECIDE:

You have to make a decision about what it is that you actually want. You have to be honest with yourself about this, even if it makes you feel like it’s impossible to achieve or that other people will judge you for it.

Everything you do starts with a decision that you will get this or create this for yourself.

VISUALIZE IT:

If you already know what you want, and even if you don’t, this exercise will still be helpful for you, so take some time on this and start imagining what your ideal life will look like today.

Start by taking a piece of paper or file on your computer where you can write down 3 columns: one column should be titled BE, the other DO, and other HAVE.

Basically these will list all the things you want to do, be, and have in your life, and will help you start getting more clear on who you really want to become in your life and how to make your dreams a reality right now.

Then once you’ve done that, you can start just taking a little bit of time each day to really sit with it and visualize your ideal life and how that would actually feel to be living in that life and be that person you really want to become.

Just be aware, that the first few times you do this exercise - especially if your current life seems so far away from the life you want, that it may cause you to feel a little emotional. That’s okay - it just means that you really want it, but don’t let this feeling put you off from doing this exercise again, because it’s important to keep doing it as often as you can.

PLAN:

The next step in creating the life you want, is actually making a plan to bring it to life, after you’ve decided what you it is you want. You should set yourself a deadline for this, so that you can actually start making plans around it.

For example, if you know that for your ideal life to become a reality, that you have to be living in a new house, then you’re going to set a date on the calendar based on how long you think you’ll need, and then work out a plan of the actions you’ll need to take daily in order to make it happen by working backwards from there.

TAKE ACTION:

The biggest thing is taking aligned action towards anything you want - you can set goals and plan all you want, but unless you actually take real actions daily, then not much is likely to actually come to life, so this step is really crucial in getting what you want.

LET GO:

What I mean by this, is not let go of your dreams, but simply let go of the attachment to how you’re going to make things happen.

How you achieve your goals doesn’t really matter. You have to be open to the different, and sometimes unexpected ways that the universe will help you get what you want in life - and it won’t always be the way you imagined it, but when you remain open to it, then it’s always for the best, so let go of the attachment to how you’ll actually create your new life.

What you have to understand is, that your life is completely up to you to create. You are so much more capable than you ever realized of creating the life of your dreams, and to be, do, and have all the things you ever dreamed of.

It really does just start with a decision, and then from there as long as you’re taking the actions towards your dreams and goals without being attached to the outcome, then you will get what you want.

You have to remain faithful. There will be many times along the way where you’ll feel like giving up or your mood will be low because it seems like nothing is working or everything is going against you, but you really can’t give up because you absolutely can get there as long as you keep choosing to.

The other thing you have to do is make sure you keep your thoughts and energy aligned to what you want. Our thoughts play such a big role in our lives - more than we actually realize, so it’s important that we don’t allow those to become negative, because then that’s what we attract.

So, keep your thoughts in check, and make sure they actually reflect the things you want in life.

There will always be times when fear and doubt will creep in, but it’s important not to let them control you or the outcome you’re going for.
