How To Care For Your Skin This Winter

from here

The winter time is generally not very friendly to skin, and it really doesn't matter in which part of the world you live, you’ll usually have some kind of reaction to the winter when it comes to your skin, so it’s really important,  even more so during this time of year, that you take measures to protect your skin and keep it looking healthy and feeling comfortable.

Taking care of your skin is actually a lot easier than most people think, and you really don't need all of the expensive lotions and potions that are sold today.
If you buy one or two good products that you find work well for you, then definitely stick with that and just incorporate them into your daily routine, but you don't have to go overboard and buy everything that's listed for sale.

The first thing you really need to do when it comes to taking care of your skin is obviously have a good diet.

The more fats and sugars and things that you eat, the more your skin will be affected, also smoking and alcohol and even too much caffeine can cause dehydration and drain out your skin, which actually leaves it more vulnerable to the being affected by the harsh winter weather.

If you actually want to start having a daily routine, then you should start with this as soon as possible.

Go and look for some skin solutions that will work for your skin and find something that works for you. You can buy treatment lotion for face online at many places, so you’ll likely find something that suits you.

The main thing is to really ensure that you implement a good daily skincare routine that you stick to, and that includes moisturising and exfoliating to keep impurities away and remove dead skin cells that can affect the overall look and feel of your skin.

The next important step is to make sure that, if you wear makeup during the day, that you remove it in the evenings before you go to sleep, and then apply some moisturiser. Leaving old makeup on your skin is very bad for it, can cause things like breakouts, and just leave your skin feeling dried out and not at its best.

Of course there will be the occasions where you do fall asleep with your makeup on, and forget your skincare routine, and that's fine - it’s certainly not the end of the world but, if you can make sure that you moisturise as soon as you can and remove your make-up, then it will make a difference and prevent further damage.

When it comes to your skin care, you really just need to keep it simple.

As mentioned above, you really don't have to go overboard with all the latest products - just find something that works for you, and use that, and as long as you're practicing these simple steps such as removing your make-up, eating right, and not putting loads of stuff onto your face, then your skin will generally be in good condition.

If you suffer particularly from dry skin during the winter, then  a special lotion or moisturiser that’s made especially for dry skin could be helpful, but if you're really struggling with this, or you notice any redness and dryness around the hairline or scalp, then you can also speak to a dermatologist about getting something that can help you with this. Depending on where you live, this could be a problem with the water in your area.
