Simple Ways To Give Your Home A Facelift

from here

Appearance is incredibly important to plenty of people, which explains why there are so many people who are willing to spend so much money on makeup, hair colouring and extensions, and plastic surgery. Your home is no different. However, this doesn’t mean that you are going to have to spend buckets of money on a facelift for your home. In fact, there are plenty of simple ways to give your home a facelift that are pretty budget friendly. Here are a few of my favourites:

De-Clutter Your Home
A messy and cluttered home is never going to look great. Go room by room and sort through all of your belongings. Anything that’s broken, or you haven’t used in the past three months (as long as it’s not a seasonal item) should either be thrown away, donated, or sold. Books, DVDs, and CDs can be sold online, quickly and easily, using a website, such as musicMagpie. Clothes, on the other hand, can be donated to your local charity shop. Ensure that everything that you're keeping is stored away tidily.

Get New Flooring
If your flooring or carpets are looking a little worse for wear, it could be having a big negative impact on the look of your home’s interior. Updating it may be the best thing for your homes, so it’s at least worth a thought. Carpets will be a lot warmer in the winter, but wooden flooring is a lot more hard wearing and easy to clean, so you have to think where your priorities lie. Once you’ve figured that out, you may want to visit carpet, flooring and curtains supplier Carpet One.

Care For Your Front Door
Your front door is the very first thing that people are going to see when they enter your home, so you want it to look great. This means no dirt, no rust, no broken parts, lovely numbers, and a polished, working letterbox. If your door is in complete disrepair, then you may want to consider buying and installing a new one. However, this isn’t always necessary; Sometimes all you need is to replace the bits that aren’t up to standard, or repair the door.

Repaint The Walls
In case it wasn’t completely obvious, the walls of a room can have a bit impact on how that room looks and feels, so if your walls aren’t looking their best, then they are where you should start. The easiest way to give your walls a facelift is to simply repaint them in the colour they already are. This won’t make your room look “different” per say, but will freshen it up, as it will be getting rid of any dirt, chips, or cracks in the paint. Your ceiling will also likely appreciate a little of this treatment.

The appearance of your home says a lot about you, so it’s no wonder that it’s so important to keep your home looking great. Luckily, this doesn’t have to be difficult or cost you ridiculous amounts of money. Something as simple as changing the number on your front door can have a big impact, so there’s no excuse not to get going.

Love,
Ieva
